Domestic Violence

Prevention of Violence against Women & Children

Violence against women includes medical neglect, bride-burning foeticide, infanticide, child marriages, sexual abuse, forced marriage, and sexual harassment at home and the workplace.

Violence against children includes all forms of violence against people under 18 years old. For infants and younger children, violence involves physical, sexual, emotional abuse and neglect at the hands of parents and other authority figures. Boys and girls are at equal risk of physical and emotional abuse. While on the other hand, girls are at greater risk of sexual abuse.

At NIM Foundation, we inspire and empower people to fight for the rights of women and girls by catalyzing leadership in communities to change deep-rooted cultural norms that perpetuate gender-based discrimination and violence. We work extensively with young people through training that helps them develop a stronger identity and confidence to make their own life decisions.
